This is a great place for a quick bite to eat and a brew. Several t.v.s for watching sports. You can eat at the bar or sit at at table. It is a small place but we have never had a problem getting a seat at the bar or a table. I had one experience when we were turned away because they had no seating due to a private party in the resturant section. Not the best management idea to rent it out on a Saturday night. However, the food is great, I especially like the Chicken Pesto sandwich. Servers and bartenders are fantastic and friendly. Occasionally, they have live music too.

We met friends here for drinks. It is within walking distance of the Orland 143rd Street Metra. Service was good, prices were normal. Beer variety was okay, a couple crafts, nothing too unusual. Cozy, homey atmosphere, fireplaces are a nice touch. I'd like to come back in warmer weather, they have tables behind the restaurant/pub in a nice deck yard area.

I go here all the time and for good reason. The staff is super nice and the beer selection is phenomenal. I also really love the fact that they have a beer garden and a really nice one. Plus, given the area, it's very quiet too. They've got solid specials and a really good whiskey and beer selection. The only reason I'm hesitant to write this review is because I don't want this place to turn into how Fat Sam's used to be.

Love this place!!!!!! Was not expecting a hidden gem off of a one way street. Such a cool little bar, awesome prices, really good food you really can't go wrong! I got the gluten free salmon (very big selection of gluten free items) with a gluten free sauvigon blanc! Salmon was cooked perfectly. My friend had the burger which was flavorful, hand packed and juicy. Our other friend got the fish and chips and the batter was light and crispy not too dense so the flavor of the fish really came out and another one of our friends got the chicken sandwich which was good but the star of her dinner was the deep fried pickle Spears. Highly recommend this place. Much better than any chain in that area

Great place to have a couple of beers. Food was very tasty, service was good. Only complaint would be the patio. On a nice day, we used to just sit in the patio and enjoy the night but now people bring their own CD players and blast their music whether you want to hear it or not. Been there 3 times this summer and every time we couldn't stand the noise. Kinda bummed because this was our favorite place. If I was just rating beer, food and atmosphere, they would have a five.

Honestly my, now wife, have been coming here a number of times and never reviewed the Irish Patriot. This bar/restaurant is a smaller establishment but is comfortable and the staff is friendly. The food is good and the drinks are plentiful. Highly recommend to watch a game or hang out with friends.

I have driven past The Irish Patriot many times and have never had the change to stop in. My boyfriend and I were trying to think of somewhere to go but were bored with the spots we usual frequent when we visit my mom in Orland Park. We visited one night on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. We found the place to be rather inviting! We enjoyed a few beers and some live music. The place was crowded with a good variety of people. The beers were reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will totally be going back! :)

The family voted this Orland Park establishment tonight and we were all a little disappointed in the meal. The burgers sounded great as we read the menu aloud but left us searching for flavor. Where were the seasonings??? My son's fish and chips left a lot to be desired. Too much breading fried over tasteless fish. The hit of the evening was the appetizer of Irish Nachos and of course the drinks. The restaurant has a pub atmosphere and a outdoor patio area which is inviting. Overall, a great place to meet friends for drinks and appetizers but I would be cautious about the entrees!!!

The Irish Patriot is a nice Irish pub with decent food on a limited menu. During my visit, the crowd leaned heavily toward the bar rather than the dining room. With only one person working both areas, the service was a bit slow. With so many good Irish pubs in and around Chicago, the bar is set very high for an establishment like this, which means it comes out looking very average at best.

This is really a 3.5 stars with the benefit of the doubt for 4. We ambled in with at party of 10 on a Friday night after a wake across the street. The bar was full and the staff was friendly and accommodating to our impromptu large party. They, pulled some tables together and were nice to the kids. The bar and dining areas have a strange set up. When we opened the door to enter the bar, we were greeted by drunken golfers who had to hold the door for us to get in past them. Kind of poor lay out. The food was okay, I had a Ruben and it was okay, just okay. The burger seemed to be the standout on the menu it appeared to be hand patted and juicy. Even the kids burger looked great. It was clean and friendly.

Wait staff very friendly and attentive. Service was quick. Casual and very laid back atmosphere. Had the Sheppard's Pie. Pretty good. Also had the wings (hot). Pretty damn good. Got to watch the Hawks game on big screen. Mighty good indeed. Only gripe was the flat iron steak was ordered Medium, but came out almost well done. It was still good enough to finish it off. Will come again.

First visit was a decent overall experience. Service started off a bit slow, one of the bar-backs glared at us for about 5 minutes before we were greeted by a bartender and provided menus. Drink prices seemed a little high, as did the food. Check the drink specials before heading over, they change daily. Food was okay. Ordered some wings and the corned beef bites. Wanted something hot, so we went with the "Extreme" sauce (ghost pepper). Absolutely NO HEAT... I've had spicier Chipotle Mayo. The bites weren't what we expected either, but they went down alright. Stayed for quite a while, hung out in the beer garden. Service back there was hit or miss. I'm sure we'll be back at some point, but there's no rush.

Nice refurbished neighborhood Irish bar. Good beer selection and reasonably priced. As to food, it was pretty typical Irish pub grub - and good at that. While the food prices are a bit on the high side (i.e.-$12 for Shepherd's Pie), they made up for it with very large serving sizes. The Shepherd's Pie ($12)...Fish & Chips ($12)...and Pot Pie ($11) were all nice offerings. Also tried the wings (we were there on 50 cent wing night) - had six and tried medium; they were very tasty and not very spicy at all...would get more heat next time. Noticed some other review that mentioned the awkward entrance ... there is a reason for that. The old Paddy B's used to open right onto 143rd Street with a front door entrance. With the redo of the pub we suspect that the OP Building peeps required a change in entrance around to the side. This prevents anyone from having one too many and walking right out into the street - so it is a safety issue. I think we can deal with it. We will return

I occasionally stop in here to get a pint and watch the Hawks or Bears, so I really don't qualify as a "Regular"....but every time I do stop in, I get good, friendly service and good food/ beer. One night, I was sitting at the bar and a couple of Irish guys started talking about how much they loved watching Ice Hockey and that it is not played much back in Ireland. I tried to explain the game in as much detail as possible and they ended up buying me a pint for the informative chat. They were very friendly, happy-go-lucky Irishmen!! All-in-all, The Irish Patriot is a neat little Irish pub tucked in Orland Park. Great place to have lunch or have drinks after work.

Went there again last evening with another couple and had a fabulous time. My opinion of the place has certainly changed. The fish and chips were all you could eat, quite tasty and piping hot. My wife had the salmon and raved about it. The glaze had a little spice to it but she really enjoyed it. Our friends had the flat iron steak and the Shepard's pie which they both said were excellent. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the service was less than perfect. While the place was busy the waitresses (there were only 2) were quite busy and ours was less than attentive. I had to wait several minutes and tried several times to get her attention for more fish. I will return, the atmosphere is cozy and the food was great. A nice neighborhood place that is not a chain in Orland Park! Yea!

What a great job they did with the redesign compared to what it was years ago. I was greeted promptly by Missy who was bar tending and she was great to talk to. Just a sweetheart and very personable. I had a chicken sandwich that might have been one of the best i'd ever had. Keep up the great work.
